Bourbon Herbalist event at Botherum

Renowned garden designer and party host Jon Carloftis will open his historic Lexington home to the Bourbon Women Association for a one-of-a-kind event May 10, 2018. The Bourbon Herbalist event will take place at Historic Botherum, built in 1851 and surrounded by gardens on a nearly acre lot in downtown Lexington. 

 

Guests will enjoy custom cocktails from Maker’s Mark in the Carriage/Pool House, informal tours of the gardens and house, and visits to the Speakeasy in the basement. The main house was built with a combination of Greek, Roman and Gothic architectural influences and is furnished in a unique blend of antique and contemporary styles.

Mother’s Day falls on May 13th this year. To help celebrate, we’d like to invite you, your friends, your mother, grandmother down to our 2018 Annual Spring Open House where you can walk the woodland trails full of spring wildflower blossoms along the banks of the Rockcastle River.

 

In addition, we’ll be hosting workshops throughout the day where you can learn great new ideas to make your garden the best ever this year. No reservations needed, just stop by! We’ve done some freshening up, the store is full of new items and Momma is ready to greet you for a brand new season!

 

Val Schirmer from Three Toads Farm, will be conducting demos on: How to grow your own cut flower patch (yep, you can grow like the Toads!) and How to use peonies in fresh-as-springtime bouquets and tablescape. Demos will be at 11am, 1pm and 3pm both Friday and Saturday.

 

Plan on eating here with the fabulous Local Feed Food Truck and have coffee with Smokin' Aces Coffee Co. will be joining us again!
